Nestled in the northern Michigan town of Lake City, is our Christmas tree farm. Paul and I have been Christmas tree farmers for about 15 years, although I am a rookie, Paul has grown up in the tree field since he was a child. After Paul's accident that left him a quadriplegic he purchased 200+ acres of land in Lake City and began his own tree farm. Although he is unable to perform the physical aspects of planting, spraying, pruning and harvesting, he is able to supervise our operations and the end result is a successful tree farm with #1 quality trees. The Helsel family has been in the Christmas tree business for over 60 years. Paul's grandfather was a pioneer in Northern Michigan Christmas tree farming. All 9 of his children have followed in his footsteps as well as several of his grandchildren.
The Helsel name is synonymous for #1 quality Christmas trees.
